Who We Support

Built for those who require
a higher standard

Carnelian Collective serves clients for whom discretion, compliance, and expertise are not a preference. They are requirements.

Aligned

Trust & Estate Professionals

When an estate includes fine art, jewelry, or collectibles, the need for accurate, well-supported documentation becomes especially important. Carnelian Collective provides appraisal oversight, USPAP-compliant reporting, and structured inventories that support estate administration and stand up to IRS scrutiny. We work efficiently, communicate clearly, and understand that the accuracy of every document is a professional responsibility shared by everyone at the table.

Strategic

Family Offices & Wealth Advisors

Tangible assets often sit just outside the structure of traditional wealth management, yet they carry meaningful financial and personal value. We work alongside family offices and wealth advisors to bring structure and consistency to these holdings, from valuation and documentation to longer-term planning. Whether supporting multi-residence collections or navigating generational transfer, we work within your existing advisory structure, adding a specialist layer without adding complexity to the relationship.

Specialist

Insurance Specialists

Scheduled personal property coverage is only as reliable as the values behind it. We work with private client brokers, underwriters, and carrier teams to ensure those values are current, well-supported, and USPAP-compliant. Where scheduled amounts have drifted from current market conditions, we identify the gap and provide documentation that supports accurate coverage, reduces risk, and provides confidence for both underwriting and client advisory conversations.

Trusted

Private Collectors & Families

If you have inherited a collection, spent decades building one, or are beginning to acquire with intention, Carnelian Collective provides a steady, independent presence. We help you understand what you own, what it is worth, and how best to manage it, from a single inherited piece to a home filled with objects accumulated across generations.

Collaborative

Designers & Estate Managers

Carnelian Collective is a complement, not a competitor. For interior designers, we act as a specialist partner in the sourcing and acquisition of fine art and objects, identifying, vetting, and securing works that align with both the design vision and the client's broader collection. We bring market access, due diligence, and valuation insight, ensuring each acquisition is considered, well-supported, and appropriate to the context in which it will live.

For estate managers, we serve as the specialist layer behind the scenes, handling documentation, care coordination, and vendor oversight so the objects within the home are properly managed, without adding burden to your day.

When to Engage

Moments that require clarity

These are the points where complexity, timing, or consequence requires a more considered approach, and where having the right structure in place makes a measurable difference.

Insurance Insurance Coverage

Art markets move. Scheduled policies rarely keep up. A current appraisal review helps ensure coverage reflects today's market, protecting against loss without carrying premiums based on outdated values.

Donation Charitable Donations

Gifts to eligible nonprofit institutions require a qualified appraisal to substantiate the deduction. Whether a donation is still being considered or already underway, we manage the process end-to-end and deliver appraisal documentation that meets IRS requirements well before the filing deadline.

Estate Estate Administration & Legacy Planning

Art, jewelry, fine objects, and other tangible assets often carry financial, legal, and personal significance beyond what traditional estate planning documents capture. Well-supported valuations simplify administration, address estate reporting requirements, and provide executors, trustees, and attorneys with the documentation needed to make decisions and move the process forward with confidence.

Transaction Acquisition or Sale

When buying or selling, the goal is the same: clarity on market value and confidence in the outcome. When buying, we source and secure works that align with a space, occasion, or evolving collection. For sale, we thoughtfully prepare and position objects through the most appropriate channels. Your interests remain the priority throughout, supported by market intelligence and knowledgeable representation.

Transition Collection Transitions

Life circumstances change, expected or not. When they do, art and objects can quickly become complicated to account for, divide, or act on. A detailed inventory with current valuations establishes what exists, what it's worth, and where it fits within the broader picture of the decisions families need to make about retention, distribution, sale, or long-term stewardship.

Complexity Multi-Location Holdings

Collections spread across residences, storage facilities, and family members rarely have a single, reliable picture of what exists and where. Through comprehensive documentation and meticulous oversight, we create clarity across locations, custodians, and generations.

Sharikay Sloboda, Principal, Carnelian Collective

Sharikay is a private collection strategist working nationally with collectors, families, and their professional advisors to navigate decisions around fine art and other luxury assets. She leads projects end-to-end, bringing together the appropriate expertise while serving as a discreet point of continuity across complex, collaborative endeavors. Each decision is supported by clear, reliable insight and carried through with care.

"What's on the walls and on the wrist is just as important as what's in the portfolio. These are often the most personal assets a family holds, and the most consistently overlooked until a transition makes them impossible to ignore. Having worked within the auction, appraisal, and advisory worlds brings a working knowledge of each from the inside, and that understanding is what guides every engagement."

Her perspective is shaped by nearly a decade at Christie's and subsequent experience with a New York-based boutique appraisal and advisory firm, with direct involvement in nuanced appraisals, client representation across auction and private sales, and work across significant estates and multi-location collections throughout the U.S. That background informs an approach grounded in how these processes actually work in practice, not simply in principle. Having spent fifteen years living and working internationally across Europe, Africa, Central America, and Southeast Asia, she brings a culturally attuned perspective to collections and the families who steward them.

The Collective Model

One trusted relationship.
An assembled circle of expertise.

Carnelian Collective was founded on the belief that individuals and families who hold meaningful collections
benefit from seasoned judgement that remains independent of any one sales channel or institutional interest.

The use of Collective is intentional. Each engagement draws on a carefully vetted circle of appraisers,
conservators, and specialists assembled around the specific needs of the client and the collection.

Rather than asking clients to navigate multiple experts independently, Carnelian brings the
appropriate expertise together, ensuring continuity, clarity,
and thoughtful execution from beginning to end.

You work with Sharikay directly. She works with the right people on your behalf.
